10 Oct 05 - First UK Sale of Sonic Drilling Machines

Sonic Drilling Supplies Ltd announce that the a tracked Sonic Drilling machine which has been specifically designed for the UK market has been sold to one of the UK premier Drilling & Grouting contractors. The Sonic Machine will be expected into the UK during the first few weeks of January 2006 ready for work.

The Sonic Drilling machine is expected to be significantly faster at drilling in bad ground conditions in comparison to the other drilling rigs that this UK Contractor has in their current fleet. The Drilling machine will be used for a number of different jobs across the UK to test its ability at dealing with different ground conditions and speed/production of drilling capabilities.

"Our Productivity rates should increase by quite a phenomenal rate which will enable us to provide a cost effective drilling solution to our clients with the main focus on getting the boreholes drilling quicker and cleaner than before. Although the cost of these drilling rigs are higher than conventional drilling rigs, they still perform the same job but the level of production we are anticipating from the Rig will enable us to reap the cost investment in a short period of time. We have calculated that this Rig will perform at the same rate as 3 of our standard rotary rigs, which allows us to free up equipment and manpower to take on extra work", commented the client.

Typically the Sonic Drilling machines have been built on a truck mounted frame which is suitable for the US/Canadian market but the European & UK marketplace is much different in that we require a track machine with will allow us to work on rough ground conditions, wherever they may be in the country. A truck mounted rig is available for those who prefer a truck mounted Sonic Drill for activities such as Water Well or Geothermal drilling.
